We are incredibly proud to have been named Business of the Year at the Uttlesford Business Awards 2026.
For us, this award feels particularly special. While STS Engine Services supports customers across the global aviation industry, our home has always been here, near London Stansted Airport, and many of the people behind our business live within the local community.
To be recognised here in Uttlesford, surrounded by so many brilliant local businesses, is something our whole team can be proud of.
From Four People to the Team We Are Today
STS Engine Services began in 2010 with just four people and a vision to provide a more flexible and responsive approach to engine support.
A lot has changed since then.
Our workshop has grown, our capabilities have expanded and our team has grown to more than 90 people. We’ve welcomed apprentices taking their first steps into aviation, watched colleagues develop into senior roles and continued to invest in the facilities, equipment and training that allow us to take on bigger challenges.
But throughout that growth, the people behind the business have remained at the heart of what we do.
Proud of Where We Come From
Our work may take us across the global aviation industry, but we’re proud that so much of what we have achieved has been built right here in Uttlesford.
We work closely with local education providers to create opportunities for young people entering aviation, provide skilled employment within the area and encourage our team to get involved in charity, fundraising and community activities.
We want STS Engine Services to be a business that grows alongside its community, not simply within it.
This One Belongs to the Team
Awards are a great opportunity to stop for a moment and recognise how far we’ve come, but none of it happens without the people who turn up every day and make the business what it is.
From the workshop floor to our support teams, every person has played a part in the journey that led to us being named Business of the Year.
So, more than anything, this award is a thank you to our team.
We’re proud of where we’ve come from, proud to represent Uttlesford within the global aviation industry and excited about where we’re heading next.
