STS Mod Center Receives FAA Diamond Award for Third Consecutive Year

Melbourne, Fla., February 19, 2020 – STS Mod Center, a global leader in aircraft maintenance and modification services, receives the FAA Diamond Award from the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration for its continued commitment to aircraft maintenance training and safety. This is the third year in a row STS Mod Center has received the award.

“The promotion of safety through regular and ongoing training is central to our company’s success,” says Mark Smith, Group President of STS Mod Center. “To receive this award means 100% participation from our entire staff, and that’s hundreds of people rallying around the company’s core cultural values and training methods year in and year out.”

In order to be considered for the award, STS Mod Center enrolled itself into the FAA FAAST program; a program designed to promote safer skies through the ongoing training and education of Aircraft Maintenance Technicians. To receive the award, every touch labor specialist employed by STS Mod Center had to successfully complete the year-long program with ratings levels that exceeded the Federal Aviation Administration’s justifiably high standards.

“We fix, troubleshoot and modify aircraft for a living,” says Michael Kuntz, Safety and Management Systems Director for STS Mod Center “That’s a responsibility and a privilege we take seriously. This award reflects that, and I’m proud of our team for rallying together and working hard to bring this award home for the third consecutive year. This accomplishment means a lot to us as an organization but knowing that safety rests at the heart of everything we do means a great deal more to our customers and the people who depend on us to fly safely.”

Jensen Beach, Fla., February 13, 2020 – STS Line Maintenance just received the FAA Diamond Award by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration for the second year in a row. The award recognizes the company’s commitment to aircraft maintenance training and safety.

“Given the growing size of our Line Maintenance network, this is quite an accomplishment,” says Mark Smith, Group President of STS Line Maintenance. “The promotion of safety through regular and ongoing training has always been a focal point for STS Line Maintenance, but to receive the FAA Diamond Award means 100% participation from our entire staff… and that’s hundreds of people rallying around the company’s core cultural values and training methods year in and year out. “We fix, troubleshoot and modify commercial aircraft for a living,” says William Ahern, Director of Quality and Chief Inspector for STS Line Maintenance. “That’s a responsibility and a privilege we take very seriously. This award reflects that, and I’m proud of our team for rallying together and working hard to bring this honor home. STS Aviation Group Purchases Former MAEL Hangar in Birmingham

JENSEN BEACH, Fla., Oct. 16, 2019 — Two weeks after acquiring Apple AviationSTS Aviation Group (STS), a leading global aviation solutions company, finalizes the purchase of a wide-body aircraft maintenance facility in Birmingham, England.

The facility was formerly operated by Monarch Aircraft Engineering (MAEL) and put up for sale in March of 2019. It features 200,000 sq/ft of total space — including ramp — and has the capacity to service wide-body aircraft. In fact, the facility can house two wide-body aircraft or 10 narrowbody aircraft at the same time. Mark Smith, President of STS Aviation Group, said “The hangar is beautiful, and thanks to the recent acquisition of Apple Aviation, we have the resources and the manpower in place to have the facility up, running and fully operational by January of 2020 subject to the lease transfer being agreed to.”

P.J. Anson, CEO of STS, added “The wide-body aircraft maintenance facility in Birmingham is a game-changer for our company. This purchase allows us to create a central European hub, one that will stand as a true focal point for multiple STS divisions already operating in the region. As for what comes next for STS Aviation Group, we’ll see. Right now, we’re extremely focused on ramping up operations and getting the Birmingham facility filled with aircraft.”

STS Aviation Group is Creating a Connected World of Travel

A global leader in aircraft modification and installation reaches an industry benchmark by installing, on average, 70 in-flight connectivity packagers per month while operating in four global regions including North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Melbourne, Fla., November 28, 2018 – In today’s hyper-connected world, airline passengers have grown to expect high-speed Internet connection on every flight. The trouble is, the aerospace industry is still playing catch up and trying to fuel this demand with modern solutions. According to a recent study, approximately 43% of aircraft in service globally offer passengers the ability to connect to the Internet in some way, shape or form, but thanks to the recent work of companies like STS Mod Center and STS AeroMod, the dream of high-speed, in-flight connectivity for everyone is moving closer to global reality.

Based out of Melbourne, Florida and Kansas City, Missouri, STS Mod Center and STS AeroMod have perfected the installation process of high-speed connectivity solutions across all commercial aircraft types.

“Each connectivity package we do, regardless of aircraft type, takes about three (3) days to complete. That’s fast,” says Daniel Burgess, Senior Vice President of STS AeroMod. “And given our team’s ability to deploy mobile, rapid-response teams across all corners of the world, we are now completing about 70 aircraft installations per month.”

Low TAT’s and rapid product rollout is what it’s all about for STS, and customers all over the world are starting to take notice.

“Name me one other company that can do a complete nose-to-tail install in three days,” says Mark Smith, Group President of STS Mod Center. “The truth is, I don’t know of a single company that can do installs as effectively, consistently and simultaneously all over the world like the STS Mod Center and STS AeroMod teams are doing right now.”

In addition to servicing both top-tier and low-cost carriers across North America and Europe, STS Mod Center and STS AeroMod are also working with clients on the ground in Asia and the Middle East.
